What is love?

“An animal’s eyes have the power to speak a great language.” – Martin Buber

Every day you witness something unique, as they present a new trick or cause chaos in a wholly new way, but they always remain themselves, displaying their unending dedication and affection.

I realize I'll never tire of watching my animals! Here you can see my rescue Whippet I named Selah. A musical term name that translates to 'rest'. Well, we seem to have less of that now, with more dog appearing every morning. And that's a good thing actually.

So I had to catch that first week's wondering glance on canvas before it slipped away. To do that, I worked with a background of black graffiti spray mixed with gold to bring out her fawn-colored hair and a strong muscled body.

I like to work with a range of mediums:

  • watercolors

  • acrylic paint

  • oil paints

  • spraycans etc.

  • drawings with or without color

  • urban styles or more classical styles

There are many options to pick from. Looking at your photos and the colors of your pet, as well as your preferences and possibly some hilarious stories, will set the stage for a fantastic piece of art in honor of your favorite furry buddy!

A Painting as Playful as they are!

"Hilma's portrait captured the essence of my pet beautifully. Her sketches and painting brought my vision to life. Highly recommend her talent!"
